POSITIVES: Good hotel, good service, good food, good landscaping. NEGATIVES: They charge you for bottled water $2 after first day. Domestic alcohol. Only name you will recognize is Corona. This was our first trip to Cancun. It was way more than we expected. It was worth every penny and I would go back....tomorrow. The service was good, the rooms were clean, the view was awesome, food was ok, the Italian resturant was really good. I do think they need to step up the Mexican...we were in mexico. The hotel is nice for the money. There were really no problems we could not work through. The beach is very rocky and my wife broke her toe on the rocks, so you do need to be careful. The safety kits at the hotel are not worth much so we did have to go to Walmart to get medical tape... more

This hotel is very confusing when you book. Cancun Oasis is always cheaper than the Grand Oasis, but it's all the same resort. There are 4 phases and the pyramid. Phase 1 and 2 are Cancun Oasis. I enjoy traveling and have been to many a nice hotel - but not while I was at Oasis Cancun. Absolutely none of the room amenities were offered that I take for granted - drink glasses, refrigerator, hairdryer, iron, clock, ice bucket, and absolutely no coffee pot. Lots of scary reviews for this hotel. Not from me. Lobby warm/hot, because it's open air. Check in: if you book through expedia or apple vacations, you get steered to "concierge " desk for check in. Actually this is where they try to enlist you for a "tour" of the grand oasis next door, then a sales pitch for vacation... more
