The word Ecotel is used by the owner, but boy they do work at it. It's refreshing to find the results in a garden with large Palms and other interesting trees which are the direct result of their grey water catchment / storage system. Birds and other wildlife are at home here. You get a good welcome here and Maritza... More

I was dreading having to stay in Cancun - after a trip to Tulum - but had an early flight, so thought it would be easier. I was so pleased with this hotel. The rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. The inner plaza was indeed an oasis from the hot streets outside. The staff were very nice and clearly cared... More

Extremely pleasant atmosphere in this nice hotel: helpful and funny staff, nice garden, environment friendly concept, very good breakfast and fruit juices. Service at the restaurant and at the reception is excellent. Location is in the center of Cancun, there is not much too see. Good place to stay for those who want to avoid the beach hotels and resorts.... More

Stayed on arrival and departure to/from Cancun. Friendly and helpful staff. Calm and lush garden. Rooms on ground floor is a bit murky; rooms on second floor is spacious and sunny. Breakfast is served on a nice veranda in the garden. More

This is a downtown hotel not near the beach. It is a very good hotel for its price. The grounds take you away from the city centre location with lots of tropical plants and a small (slightly sheltered) pool. The rooms have basic furnishings and are a good size. The welcome was friendly, although no English is spoken by the... More

We just stayed for one night before starting our round trip of Yucatán. However, if I ever return to Cancún I would definitely stay there again. The area outside is not that nice (a bit deserted, but at least pretty quiet at night) but it is conveniently close to the central ADO bus station (5 minute walk). However, once you... More

We stayed at Rey Del Caribe twice and both times we were very happy with the place. As everyone mentions, the garden is very nice and you do feel the difference when you come in from the hot street into the coolness of the garden. The stuff at the hotel is very nice and friendly, they always say smile and... More

Thank you for your excellent recommendations to the people that can visit our Eco Hotel in Cancun. After staying in a corporate mega resort near Playa Del Carmen, this was a breath of fresh air. While in a busy part of Cancun, once going through the doors of this hotel, it is like entering another world of a tropical garden with a very relaxed feel. One gets the sense of a Cancun from another time. I am... More

When you enter through the gates of El Rey del Caribe you don't know what hits you, in the best sence of the word. It's a fantastic small matured jungle, their garden, with as well a small but beautiful pool with some sunbeds, jacuzzi and outside shower. Hamacs at different places so you can relax in the shade or sun.... More

This hotel is unique in so many ways. You can tell the owner really put their heart & soul into the planning, building and running the hotel. There are several ecological, resource-saving features, like separation of compost and recyclables, as well as semi-composting, flush toilets that you wouldnt be able to tell they were any different from the wasteful conventional...
