Just returned from a LONG week at the Avalon "NOT SO GRAND" My husband, my 2 kidsand myself stayed there for a week and could not wait to get back to a clean environment!! The room condition was an unfortunate incident for which new measures have been implemented to guarantee that it remains as such.
June 30th at 4:45 am my sister and I awoke to find a MAN coming in our 5th floor patio doors! We screamed until he left and called the front desk! From the time of the unfortunate incident, the guests received the staffs complete attention, first with the night manager then with the chief concierge and finally at 8 o'clock in the morning with the general manager. We have no certainty that it was someone from security; it could have been another guest.
After reading previous reviews we were a little skeptical about going to this hotel, but I can say from the time we got there until we left (5 nights) we had an amazing time! The Grand Avalon lived up to our expectations!!! The hotel staff was wonderful and the food was great!!! I dont know why the previous reviewer got sick, but i doubt it was the food.
