Myself and a group of 10 stayed at this fantastic hotel from Nov. 5th to the 12th, 2009. When we got there, we got 4 days of torrential rains due to tropical storm Irma. We had a King bed ocean view room (#518) which has two closets and a very large private bathroom. I would strongly suggest this type of room since most of the others have a tub and sinks in the bedroom. El Mercado is the buffet restaurant with seating indoors and out. We found and booked this hotel through Costco.com. We couldn't have been more satisfied. My husband and I went with another couple and had a great time. We have been to many places in Mexico. The Cancun Palace was not at all what I was expecting. The rooms were small, the food not so great, the beach... not much there. We stayed at the Hilton down the beach a year before and it was by far much better. more
