The place is nicely done -very green patio and nice colours and decor. good location next to town center and als important sights. We got a room on the second floor overlooking the roofed patio. The hotel was then very empty, so I dont understand why they gave us a room where there was construction going on right on top... more
Hotel is well located and our room (the master suite) was quiet--except for tour groups that talk loudly on their way to breakfast. But the real bummer was that the mattress was hard as a rock. We left a day early because we were sore from such an uncomfortable sleeping experience. One of the hotel employees observed that we were... more
Me and my wife were staying at the Hotel Casa Mexicana, we had a great experience since we arrived at the hotel. The warmth service of all the employees who work in Casa Mexicana, the details to me my wife were incredible. Congratulations to Ms. Eugenia that we met on Sunday buffet in the restaurant of delicious food. The rooms... more
We were not able to spend our entire visit to the city at our first choice of lodging since it was booked for part of our stay, so we stayed at Casa Mexicana for a night based upon the recommendation of Bela Wood of Bela's B & B, knowing full well that it would be a splurge. We splurged, and... more
Location was good. It was okay to stay safely, but over priced for such cheap (simple?) room facility and poor management. We requested a oil heater to warm up chilly morning in San Cristobal, but it was never ever deliverd. Also, we felt difficulty to communicate with the front desk in English. I wonder why this hotel is categorized for... more
The Casa Mexicana is a stylish hotel, very nicely decorated. It is extremely well located in the city, just a few minutes from the main pedestrian street of San Cristobal. I really appreciated the room, the facilities (Internet, cable TV) which made the stay very comfortable. more
We arrived on a rainy Friday night to find that the price range quoted in our guidebook was way off and that they charged over a hundred dollars for a very small room with no view (only small, high up windows) not including breakfast. We barely had hot water in our shower and were somewhat cold at night. In the... more
I recently stayed at the Casa Mexicana with my daughter and five year old granddaughter. We chose this hotel based on its location, photos on the website, and Trip Advisor mostly positive reviews. The hotel, and its annex across the street, are both very attractive (particularly so if you enjoy gardens and plants) and the location is, indeed, excellent. It's... more
We booked Casa Mexicana after reading about the hotel in the Lonely Planet. We stayed there for 2 nights in September and had an excellent experience. Unlike some of the reviews here - the stuff was very helpful and nice. When we arrived they had a group there which occupied the second floor and, without us asking for it, they... more
