A friend and I stayed here for 3 nigts passing through on our way to Guatemala. We stayed in on of the double rooms which was discounted so it worked out at CAD)$12 per night for 2 double beds in a funky room with private bathroom. Breakky not included but the kitchen is perfect for cooking up a storm and... More

I was really happy with this place, I was in San Cristobal a couple of weeks ago (April 2013) and I was told by other travelers that this was a good hostel. They were definitely right. Fabien, the owner, is very nice, and so are the other people working there. The double room we got was big, clean, comfortable and... More

A friend and I stayed at the hostel this summer, using San Cristobal as a springboard to see what we could of Chiapas. The hostel was super clean, we had flowers in our room, and the bathrooms always had hot water. The kitchen is very well equipped, if you are into cooking ( I loved the cool big clay plates... More

Really nice hostel. Good atmosphere. Super clean. Super cool owners and staff. Lovely little lady with cleaning OCD that pretty much sterilises every nook and cranny daily. Cool tunes on occasion. Lovely separate little areas to hang out either in private or to socialise in. Sun trap terrace thing for most of the day. Great mix of travellers from all... More

I will recommend this hostal because it is cheap for backpackers, clean enough for a comfortable stay and friendly enough to meet other people who travel. Staff are very friendly, helpful and hospital, and we got along very well during my Xmas stay in San Cristobal.

I absolutely reccommend Hostal Los Camellos. I stayed there three days and it has been both comfortable and cosy. The price is very good for a young traveller, even if you choose to stay in a private room with private bathroom as I did. One of its most remarkable advantages is that it's as friendly and casual as a hostel... More

Clean, well-equipped, well-run, welcoming, interesting guests, a proper kitchen, free coffee all day – good coffee! – hot water, Wi-Fi, attentive owners, an amazing Thai restaurant just a block away ... what more would you want?

The first time when I arrived, I felt home. Friendly owner and such a cozy courtyard when you all can come sit together. Its very close to the mainstreet and one of the best choises to stay a night (or two,three,...). A few months later I arrived in the same hostel so that must mean something! :)
