These folks really know hospitality, The staff were welcoming and helpful. It has lots of small courtyards where folks gather to share and plan their days. Their WIFI worked well. Mariposas is a clean and comfortable hotel. I will heartily recommend Mariposas to my friends and I hope to return for future visits.

We had a wonderful stay in Oaxaca and at las Mariposas. My mother and I travelled from New Zealand. Not being very experienced travelers we found the staff helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. It was a great first impression of Mexico for us. The free wifi was a great bonus. Great hotel in a beautiful town, close to first-class bus station, a bit further from Zocalo (approx. 10 min walk) than other options. Nice, clean and spacious rooms and studios (with tiny kitchenette), beuatiful decorations and details. Very friendly owner and staff. Oaxaca is known, among other things, for its amazing food. So it was a little disappointing that breakfast at Las Mariposas was so poor. Room D in which I stayed is dark and has an uncomfortable bathroom with no door. I enjoyed my stay anyhow, but I think I should' ve paid less.
