Our room, the Oaxaca Suite was very large and comfortable in this historic building in the Colonia San Rafael neighborhood. A different traditional breakfast was served each day with great coffee from the Mexican State of Chiapas. A walking tour map was provided in each room that we used to learn more of the neighborhood. One of the places on... More

This is truly a great place to stay, especially if you want to be close to the center of Mexico City while still experiencing life in a real neighborhood. This was my first trip to Mexico City, so the staff (Veronica, Alex, Alan, etc.) really helped me feel at home and well acclimated. I was in town only four days,... More

There are not enough words to describe this excellent place. If you pass by the place, chances are that you will not even notice it is there. There is no sign on the street to indicate the location, but once inside, you are taken to another place- the decor and ambiance of the place make you feel more than welcome,... More

The staff had been very helpful and comforting before I ever left for Mexico City. I was alone, knowing little Spanish, a short trip into a different country for the first time. They guided me and put me more at ease before I ever met them. Going through the big iron gate and entering inside I imagined entering a secret... More

El Patio 77 was recommended to my wife and I for our honeymoon. This place has great style- big rooms, big windows, antique and modern furniture, very eco-conscious (using grey water for the toilets, motion sensor lights in the common areas), and the breakfast is simple, but delicious, with fresh juices/fruit, local ingredients, and coffee. It's also close to El... More

We stayed three nights last week and on the whole really enjoyed El Patio 77. I would have to agree with the mosquito issue and am glad to hear it is being looked into. The city cools down at night and the area is quiet so sleeping with the windows open seemed logical, but the mosquitoes were relentless. that said,... More

We generally enjoyed our stay at El patio 77. It was fun staying in an older restored home of a wealthy family in what today has become a working class neighborhood, away from all the tumult and commotion of the Centro. We enjoyed the high ceilings, techos de bóveda, large windows, stately staircases, and art and artistry all around us.... More

As other reviewers have noted, el patio 77 is quiet, beautifully designed, and spacious to say the least. However, the neighborhood was a bit secluded from many tourist spots and dining options. Be prepared generally for very long walks or having to depend on taxis and taking the metro when going out at night. Mezzo mezzo was an exception however... More

Hello Thanks a lot for your comments, they are really helpful to improve our B&B. We think that walking along the neighborhood and taking the subway to get to museums, restaurants and other attractions show our guests the real Mexico City. The main neighborhoods around here are not so far..just like 15 minutes walking. We are happy to read that in... More

Finding this eco B&B (a rarity in DF) can be a bit of a challenge. However, after staying there a couple of days it was easy to orient the cab driver to it. With no signage the building looks like other stately mansions in this quiet neighborhood except that this one has been beautifully restored. I can feel that this... More
