I did not know of this hotel. It has an awesome terrace where to hang out if weather is nice. The hotel seems to be very old and well kept but the interiors are modern and chic. Interesting combination. Service at the bar was awfully slow but that was not what makes me want a hotel anyway. Location is great... More

Just came back from a two night trip to Mexico city where colleagues and I stayed in this hotel. The hotel is in a beautifully restored building looking onto a central courtyard. Probably would have given this 5 stars had it not been for noise and a few issues with breakfast. We all stayed in the deluxe rooms on the... More

Walking down the "Alameda Central", we stopped in front of this facility. We read something related to the conqueror Cortes. It was the curiosity or something else, but eventually we decided to visit this place. Suddenly, the city´s noise disappeared, and we get involved in the strong quietly of the silence, which was broken time to time by the whistle... More

Great location ...but next time I will stay elsewhere. Too many small annoyances, messages not received, breakfast supposed to be included was charged, staff pleasant but not too helpful, or knowledgable. Coffee is provided in the room when you first arrive, but is not replaced ... we stayed four days, and were told that we could have more if we... More

Fantastic hotel with a rooftop bar and alot of charm in a quite central location and very close to the metro. The staff were flawless and the rooms were more than sufficient except the wifi could not get through the noise reducing thick walls. However look for deal on Expedia and the like as I saved about $50 US a... More

Nice hotel, but I wouldn't defined it as a boutique hotel! the room was big, no door to separate the bathroom. The shower was huge, but all the water come out of it, and spread in the room. We were 2 but there was just one bathrobe. So it was a nice hotel, but with some imperfections. The building is... More

The old Hotel de Cortes was one of my mainstays in Mexico City and, after a five year absence, we decided to return. Gone is the old well in the courtyard, the comfortable pigskin chairs, and the expanse of bougainvilla. Gone too is the cranky plumbing and dark rooms. On the whole, the renovation has been a good thing. Arriving... More

I moved to this hotel from the much bigger, fancier, business oriented Fiesta Americana Reforma looking for a cozier environment and a more personal attention. I was not disappointed. Despite the difficult start (at my arrival in the room neither phone or internet connection were working - which was promptly resolved by the hotel staff) I had a very nice... More

One of the most important aspects of any hotel is staff service. I was impressed by all staff members; and I do mean ALL. I was impressed also by the fact that they were not “tip hungry”. But go ahead and tip them, they deserve it. They were always helpful and smiling even after I had as an experiment delayed... More

Boutique Hotel de Cortes is in a convenient spot for visiting the historic district, near to the Palacio de Bellas Artes and not too far from the main zocalo where the cathedral sits. You can visit the templo mayor and museum which houses many artifacts recently dug up after the recent earthquake. Hotel Cortes had excellent breakfasts and a nice... More
