The vision of Bob, the landscape architect / architect of this place, really shines through at this place. It's centered around a pool in the courtyard, and our room was right next to it on the ground level. We enjoyed talking about architecture and plants, and my own crazy ideas for a "Glassblower" Bar & Grill, and a Gotham SideWalks... more

You won't believe it til you see it. Take a look at the photos - they are not just of the pretty parts - everywhere you look, you're wrapped in beauty. Unique style; warm, welcoming folks; and, yes, just 6 blocks from historic downtown. But why would you leave? The perfect romantic getaway! more

Wonderful location just six blocks from the GDL City Center with loads of activities, site seeing and shopping. Las Sabilas is owned by Bob Clark who is an outstanding host and wonderful gardener. My suite overlooked the pool and gardens and was just stunning. Had total access to the internet , phone service, pool and kitchen, all gratuitous. Bob and... more

Spent a week in Guadalajara in late May at Las Sabilas. Both the city and the hotelito were beyond my expectations. I visited most Mexican Colonial Cities before going to GDL. I like DF, but assumed GDL was a big city with the disadvantages and none of the advantages of DF. I was wrong. GDL is a wonderful destination and... more

This is the second time we stayed at La Sabila and each time we fell in love all over again. Guadalajara is a great city and staying at La Sabila makes the travel even more enjoyable. La Sabila is located in Guadalajara's historical district, within walking distance of the Great Cathedral, Theater, Playa, mercado, and restaurants. No detail at La... more

After the hustle and bustle of downtown Guadalajara, markets, shopping, retreating to our "hotel" at the end of the day was perfect! The gardens are gorgeous - the staff so friendly. Would definitely recommend and stay there again! more

If you seek out really unique small hotels, lush gardens and interesting, worldly people this is the place for you. My husband and I just returned from Guadalajara and Las Sabilas where we rented the Garden Suite for a week. The suite was roomy, well appointed and had great cross ventilation to maximize the wonderful cool evening breezes. Each night... more

If you decide to stay at Las Sabilias, it it definitely worth the extra $30 USD per night to stay in the garden suite. You have your own private garden with pond and waterfall to relax in. If you don't want to make small talk with the other quests, this is the place for you. On the other hand, be... more

Once a motorcycle repair shop, Las Sabilas shows what can be created by someone with the vision of Bob Clark. It is an amazing oasis in an area within a few blocks of downtown Guadalajara. Don't be deceived by the view from the street, behind those walls is an oasis in the middle of Guadalajara! Words can't do it justice... more

Las Sabilas is a small, 6-room hotelito in the heart of Guadalajara that manages to capture the essence of 19th Century Romanticism, invoking imagination, emotion and inspiration in its guests. There is some magic here. Fountains, pool and pond surrounded by beautiful gardens provide serenity in the middle of bustling and chaotic Guadalajara. I wanted to stay forever. In terms... more
