Don't believe the scary stories about Mazatlan. Security was not an issue. City is laid back, people are friendly and weather is great. Police presence is very low-key. We had a corner 3 bedroom unit with an ocean and marina view. Very large common space and plenty of balconies. Limited kitchen tools (our wine opener was missing) , no dishwasher and no oven.
