Just returned from the RIU. The hotel is fairly new and is well maintained. Before you go be warned that Mazatlan is the top destination of Mexican citizens so if you can't handle rude and ignorant people don't bother. If this isn't a priority then you should be OK. Maybe a culture of not being willing to wait in line...
