we normally prefer non-chain hotels but this fit the bill when we were on the final leg of a 4 week trip to mexico and didn't want the hassle of negotiating city streets on our last night before crossing the border. motel is modern with attractive glass arch over reception parking area. otherwise, laid out like an american motel with spacious courtyard parking. rooms are large with two queen beds and big bathroom. all mod cons - hairdryer, tissues, etc.

room was $65 for two. hotel is very easily reached from northern periferico (if you're driving between saltillo and neuvo laredo).

only downside is lack of nearby restaurants. the hotel has a restaurant and bar but we dined at a restaurant specializing in cabrito just a couple of blocks south - ok, but we were the only customers. breakfast at the hotel was included and fantastic - wonderful selection of juices, fresh fruit and hot entrees catering to the 99% mexican clientele - papas con rajas to die for... more
