As we drove up the tree-lined avenue to the Chateau de Jonvilliers it was like moving backwards to a bygone age. The chateau revealed itself as we drove through the gates and round the irregular triangle driveway. The car looked incongruous in the period setting. We should have been in costume in a Julian Fellowes-written movie. The magic continued as... More

We didn't want to stay too close to Paris, and this was an excellent choice. Thanks Tripadvisor! And thanks to Richard and Virginie for making this such a wonderful experience. As we were the only guests the first night, Virginie gave us the Chartres room for our stay. Breakfast was wonderful, and on the second morning we were able to... More

We stayed at the cottage for a week last summer and highly recommend it. Friendly welcome from the owners, cottage well equipped, very comfortable and spacious. Both bedrooms had their own bathroom and there was also a generous sitting area alongside each. This meant that with two teenagers, everyone had their own space but equally, there was ample seating for... More

We loved this place, a beautiful chateau in a small french town with lots of local charm and friendly hosts. What more can you ask for? Richard and Virginie were incredibly helpful and full of advice. Virignie was born for this job, we would have stayed with them longer if we knew how nice and relaxing it would be out... More

We stayed in the cottage at Jonvillier for three weeks in September / October. The layout of the cottage was great for our extended family group. it was very homely with everything needed to make for a relaxing holiday - the kitchen was particularly well equipped which made it easy for having meals at home. Jonvillier was a great base... More

My husband and I stayed at Chateau Jonvilliers for six nights and we did not want to leave! The Dreux Room was spacious and very comfortable with a beautiful view from the window that overlooked the front of the property. It was quiet, relaxing and a great launching point for our travels around the area. Richard and Virginie were extremely... More

We come to the Rambouillet area frequently to visit my elderly mother and have stayed in all the hotels in the area. Chateau de Jonvilliers is by far the best. It is a lovely small Chateau, in fabulous grounds, filled with beautiful old French furniture and art that has been in the family for generations. Virginie and her American husband... More

Stayed here to 'do' the Palais de Versailles driving back up through France. So glad we did. Lovely old house. Third generation owners. Very atmospheric and quirky. Five bedrooms on the top floor; Small guest lounge with free tea and coffee. Virginie very welcoming. Breakfast lovely, served around a large table in the dining room. Very much like staying as... Virginie and Richard were excellent hosts. Virginie is French and Richard is from the US, and they live in the B&B which is a real chateau that has been in the family for several generations. They shared their home with us for 4 nights. They were both very helpful on tips about what to see and where to go. They... More

We stayed here for one night on route to the Loire Valley and received a warm welcome from Virginie. Our room was on the small side but perfectly adequate for one night and had a clean and modern en suite attached. There was also a small area on the landing where guests were able to make complimentary hot drinks and... More
