This is one of the few places sited to allow a walker to use the Forth & Clyde Canals between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Tally-Ho Hotel is well sited for a stop-over as it's c. 12 miles west of Edinburgh near to Linlithgow. However to suggest the hotel has yet to embrace modern tourism would be an understatement. The staff can't be bothered, the rooms are truely awful and the food stinks. You would be advised to keep walking and sleep in a ditch in preference to staying at the Tally-Ho.
