My wife and I wanted a second honeymoon and chose to stay in a quiet location on Maui. Makena was everything we were looking for in a resort; not too far away, friendly staff, great beach, great breakfast buffet, beautiful natural surroundings, and great snorkling. We loved it. My only complaint is that we didn't stay longer. I'll be back.

This place was a treat. The staff was about the friendliest staff I have ever encountered at any hotel I have stayed at. The resort is a bit further down the path from some of the other places, but well within a few minutes drive to shops, etc. Food opinions at the hotel are excellent. My husband and I stayed at this resort for our baby moon. It is the farthest south resort and we found it to be the most secluded and least busy of surroundings properties.
