We have stayed at the Barley Bree on a couple of occasions, indeed when travelling in Scotland we make it one of our regular places to eat now. We first visited the place before Alison and Fabrice took ownership some time ago. what a difference they have made. The rooms are first class, beautiful furnishings, high standard and comfortable. The... More

We had our wedding celebrations at the Barley Bree after a service at Innerpeffray Chapel. The food was fantastique! The staff are generous, helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make our celebration truly wonderful - I have advised many friends to go here for any meal or celebration. The rooms are equally lovely. If we had our... More

Excellent accommodation, food and service, what more do you need. We then went on to stay at Gleneagles it's a toss up which we enjoyed the most. Also try Indulge coffee shop, in Auchterader, it's the best in Scotland. More

Greeted with a warm welcome and shown our room to the front, spotlessly clean, large shower and huge comfortable bed. The highlight of the evening was in the restaurant, I had scallops followed by pheasant, my husband had soup followed by seaweed fed lamb, with the most interesting and expensive bottle of wine we have ever bought, the whole meal... We stayed for just one night, and were wholly happy with everything. The room was beautifully appointed, absolutely clean and very comfortable and the meals were outstanding. Fabrice's cooking is exceptional, and was well complemented by some fine wines (courtesy of Alison's well-researched and written wine list). Breakfast (always important in the scheme of things, and so often less good... More

We arrived soaked after a long day at a local Highland Games. We were welcomed by friendly patrons of the restaurant and then warmly by our hosts. We were running a little late, but they were most accommodating and showed us to our room. The room was stunning! Immaculate and spacious. The en-suite was just the same. The beds were... More

We had been meaning to visit the Barley Bree for some time and finally been convinced by friends to give it a try. The room is nicely decorated, warm and with a good atmosphere. We visited on a Sunday evening and were surprised to see every table taken as Muthill is not exactly a sprawling metropolis. The menu is short... More

We have eaten at the Barley Bree regularly over the last three years but this was the first time we had stayed. As usual the food and service were of high standard. We were part of a large group (12) celebrating a birthday. All of the party commented on the friendly professional service and the superb quality of the food.... More
