My husband and I spent just one night here as a pre birthday celebration ( Winter Warmer Special offer for DB&B) and were not dissappointed. We only live 30mins away but both of us felt that we had enjoyed a mini break. Our room was Heckham Peckham and was huge with an enormous modern 4 poster, 2 large windows overlooking... More

We had heard good things about the Bell Had Sunday Lunch there ! At £22 for two courses we were expecting something a bit special. The Pork was very tasty but it was hiding vegatables that had been hanging round for hours The Puddings were unappetizing and although very well presented were not tasting the best Coffee left a bad... Booked Sunday lunch for a party of 6. On arrival at 1210 it was empty and we setlled in for a drink etc. Two of the party arrived a bit later. The Bar staff were fine but we found the waiting staff member very " off" . We were presented with the menues prior to the arrival of our other... More

I have just returned from the most fantastic few days spent at The Bell at Skenfrith. Although I only live an hour away from The Bell, its fantastic location nestled in the midst of the countryside (fantastic walks - of which all levels were catered for in the Bell's very own leaflet on recommended walks) made us all feel like... I am always relieved when I arrive at a hotel or guest house to find that it is clean, and I was not disappointed by the Bell. I would give it a good 4/5 for cleanliness. Very few would ever get a 5. I found the atmosphere warm and cosy and the food good. The twin room in which we stayed... More

We had a great overnight stay at the Bell. The Heckham Peckham room was absolutely lovely and we felt very spoilt. The staff are friendly and we loved the bar with open fire and the walks around the hotel. The breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice including the cooked breakfasts and local fresh produce. We had dinner in the... More

I booked our stay to celebrate my boyfriend's 40th birthday and we stayed in the beautiful Heckham Peckham room with four poster bed and loft bathroom. It was stunning! We ate in the restaurant which was very good and the food from their organic garden and locally sourced meet was excellent! The weekend was made extra special as we got... More

Everything at the Bell is so well thought out from the bedrooms to the bar and dining room. We had such a lovely time with a beautiful meal in a great setting. The wine list is extensive without being intimidating with an excellent range of prices and choice. I would thoroughly recommend staying the night here - particularly in the... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Bell in 'Whickham's Fancy,' a lovely four poster with large en suite and adjoining room with sofa, TV and view over the river, complete with swans! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we spent the first afternoon reading the papers, drinking tea and munching on the home made shortbread provided... More

We arrived at the restaurant after a local walk to try and get a snack and a drink. We entered the inn and were totally ignored by the staff. We then entered the bar. There was no-one on duty and were forced to wait again. After 5 minutes or so we went to find someone. When we approached them about... More
