Spent 3 nights in the Garden view rooms. Was very expensive but we wanted to experience the beaches there. What can you say. We spent 1 day at Scott Beach and 2 at Turtle Bay. Both amazing and didnt need to look anywhere else. Turtle Bay was probably the nicest beach we have ever been to. Quiet, very little other... More

We visited Caneel Bay for the third time in 10 years in January 2012 (each visit 5 years apart). This third visit was probably even better than the first two. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The beaches are simply amazing. The rooms are not lavish, but are VERY comfortable and clean. (We loved the Turtle... More

Caneel has a shabby-chic image. It's one of the older Rockresorts taken over by Rosewood. The service is impeccable, the views are stunning beyond belief. But the accommodations can be basic, and couples have been known to receive upgrades as a unit is cleared due to plumbing problems. The property boasts multiple beautiful beaches; wildlife is everywhere in evidence on... More

I stayed at Caneel earlier this month for 7 days. The ferry ride to the resort which started our vacation was top notch with rum punch mixed for us while we rode out to St. John. Staff were extremely polite and accommodating. We changed rooms while being there and I had the chance to see other layouts through friend's rooms... More

We have been coming to Caneel Bay since it was a Rock Resort 34 years ago, but we have never been able to come during the holidays. The weather was glorious and although we prefer the absolute solitude of spring and summer here, walking the grounds and beaches while the resort was filled to capacity was surprisingly still extremely mellow.... We went to Caneel Bay during the Xmas holidays knowing that the resort would be filled with young children. We expected the screaming kids and the parents who never told them to behave, but we never expected the resort to turn a blind eye on those who did not have children with them and allow these families to ruin their... Dear Marker12 Thank you for sharing your review on Tripadvisor. I am pleased to hear you liked many things about our property including the beaches and the resort itself; however I sincerely apologize for any insult caused to you. Both myself and our resort manager spent the majority of each day out on property, greeting every arriving guest, and speaking... More

I have been to St. John a few times. I first discovered the island on a day trip from St. Thomas. I then began to stay on the island at the few resorts that are there. Caneel is the best of the bunch but your options are limited since the island is mostly natural reserve (which is a big plus... More

I waited a long time to stay at Caneel Bay. Sometimes, things just are not what you expect them to be. This was the case staying here. We were staying at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef Resort on St. Thomas first. A driver from Caneel picked us up at the said time and were taken to Redhook, for the ferry over... More

Before we had children, my wife and I preferred to stay in out of the way, rustic boutique hotels. My challenge for this vacation, with two small children in tow, was to find a family friendly resort with a kids club that did not feel like an overpopulated mega resort. We wanted to avoid the Hyatts/Dreams/Westins of the world where... More

On our fourth visit as a family to Caneel Bay we had a great Spring Break. Our girls are teenagers now so we stayed on Scott Beach, which is one of the quieter spots. We loved it! Even though we had more walking to get around the resort the service on the beach and in the rooms was great. The... More
