I've been hosteling, camping, backpacking lots of places, but I have NEVER stayed in a rainforest before Ecolodge. There are a few rainforests in the Caribbean, but no camping allowed, no hotels inside (most are parks). One of the neat things about Saba. Our lodge/hut/bungalow/cottage (not sure the best word) was better than I expected. I really appreciate the owners'... More

My partner and I enjoyed staying at the Ecolodge but there are definitely a few things that could use some love. Its a little run down eg. the sheets smell a little moldy and not all kitchen supplies available. The shower is cold water, so be prepared. Staff are nice and helpful, great chef onsite too.The location is not bad... More

When you visit Saba this is a beautiful place to stay. The huts are beautiful and in the style of all the houses on the island. The owner is very friendly and helpfull. It's really quiet and you wake up by the sounds of many birds. The view was really spectacular. Although it's a beautiful place, be aware of the... More

Individual cottages in the middle of the rainforest. What else could you ask for? As long as you are aware of what you are going to, you will love it there. There is no paved road to take you to the front door...a taxi will drop you off at the closest spot it can which is about a 10 minute... More

I stayed here in 2008 in one of the upper cottages. Great view and although rooms are basic, this is part of the experience. I could see the Caribbean Sea and islands in the distance. Also the food was good and they had an Indonesian night at that time, which meant fantastic food. Probably the only 'disadvantage' is that it's... More

Each of the "rooms" is a separate cottage, and each one is quite distinctly different, and very comfortably decorated in what I assume is the local style. The lodge is located at the end of a rocky dirt path, and each cottage branches off a path that meanders deep into the tropical forest. I'm no spring chicken, and taking that... More

If you are prepared to experience something different, in this case staying in a cabin IN the rainforest, then you will love it. The cabins are beautiful and the jungle sounded to us really good during the night. It is obviously very humid (high up in the mountains) and you have to accept limits to shower time etc., but there... More

Peaceful is almost an understatement...it is so quiet and serene here you have to ask yourself if it is real. I stayed in the Anolis cabin which had a great view across the mountains and into the sea. I laid in the hammock for a few hours listening to nothing at all except the sounds of birds...so relaxing. If you... More

We went there with some friends to spend two days on Saba. Saba is a great place for hiking. The Ecolodge is perfectly located to climb the Mount Scenery. The food was also great. They use fresh products and you taste it. The village is about 20 minutes away from the Ecolodge even though they tell you it's 5 minutes...... More
