we stayed here two nights. Good location, comfortable, clean, carefully decorated rooms and friendly staff. Easy walk into town but quiet location. I was kept awake by nearby dogs barking one night but you can get that anywhere. The night watchman, Albert, took us out rafting and then to Scatter Falls. He was charming and knowledgeable and kind and we... More

Ivanhoe's rooms are really pretty, airy, and comfortable. I really loved the open air porch with tables and couches. A great place to dine and relax. Reasonably priced, but note that breakfast is extra and they do not have a guest kitchen like the Ocean Crest next door. A convenient location, with a pretty view of the east bay, but... More

Even though there was a lot of rain in Port Antonio in December, Ivanhoe's was a delight. Ms Burke, and the staff, were helpful and welcoming, and Lydia was very nice to share recipes for Caribbean cooking with us. The rooms were clean, and the beds were nice, although you may want to feel them to make sure you get... More

Visited Port Antonio and Ivanhoe in Feb 2011. Really enjoyed my stay. Rooms were spotless and nicely furnished. Had the top floor unit with A/C. Phenomenal views with a large outdoor space with table and chairs. Great price and Ms. Burke and her staff went out of their way to insure our stay was a comfortable one. Good location, right... My BF and I stayed at Ivnahoe's during the last week of May 2011. We had room 22 on the top floor and I highly recommend it. It was $65USD per night. It has a ceiling fan and AC as well. But the real draw is the wrap around balcony outside the room. You have ocean views on three sides... More

This is a great place to stay in Port Antonio like all the reviews say. My only complaint is the bed was hard. but I wasn't there to sleep a lot! The neighboring house is a bit sketchy especially at night. I wouldn't spend my whole vacation here, but it's a great place and value. More

Due to a mishap, we stayed in both a lower and an upper floor room (ask for a top floor room, the views are amazing!). They were both clean and despite the first room not having an A/C, it wasn't that hot at all (and actually quieter than the other room, as the walls were very thin). Lorna, the owner,... More

Can only second what has been said about Ivanhoe's Guest House and Mrs Burke! Good breakfasts, clean, friendly people, and convenient to downtown Port Antonio. The latter is especially important if you don't have a car. More

Just as the other reviews say, this is a really nice play to stay, ultra-clean and well laid out. The area has its own character (and characters!) Look out for Captain Reebo who will take you rafting on the Rio Grande. Mrs Burke and her staff are great. I never knew that roosters crowed from 2pm in the morning! More

This is the second time I have stayed at Ivanhoes (first time being April 2008) and have no complaints. It is on Titchfield hill, which is approxiamately a 7 minute stroll up the hill from the centre of Port Antonio. The local area of titchfield is unfortunately a little run down compared to when it was an affluent area back... More
