This is a wonderful place for folks looking for an off-the-beaten-track kind of experience. It's sort of the antithesis of the "all-inclusive" compounds that the DR is known for. If you plan to be making day trips around Samana, this might be a good choice for you. The rooms are spacious, and though they are not posh, they are decorated... More

This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and we didn't know what to expect. When we first arrived to Bahia Chiquita we were warmly greeted by the owner Roberto. The first thing he told us is "This is your home" with a big, welcoming smile and an open heart! Samana itself was very rustic, the people were very... More

We ended cutting our trip short. The first thing we saw was the beach and from the pictures we thought it would be beautiful. The only truth about the beach is that it isn't swimmable. It's dirty and there is garbage all over. We thought by "not swimmable" because it was dangerous or something along those lines. All it would... More

My boyfriend and i stayed at Bahia Chiquita during our vacation to the island in May. It was excellent, the rooms are quite lovely. The grounds are well kept. This is an excellent place if you're looking to spend some quite time and relax. There is a resort about a 5minute walk away, with a restaurant and a bar. This... More

If you are looking for relax, peace, cleanliness, away from the all inclusive holiday... This is the place. The hotel is far but close to the town Samana you can get there from the hotel by taxi or "motoconcho" (a motorbike for 3) for a very very cheap price. It is only a few steps away from the beach (... Roberto really takes care of you, he can get you nice discount prices for whale tours, waterfall sightseeing, and although we didnt take advantage of it he is also a scuba instructor. There is a great place to eat on the beach just a few steps away as well! I recommend bringing snacks with you, have lots of small bill... More

We stayed in Bahia Chiquita for 2 nights in December 2010 (1 night in the gorgeous suite room and 1 night in a very nice double room) and enjoyed our stay a lot! Roberto, the Italian owner was very helpful. He is a great storyteller and gives good advice on what places to visited in the region. His Dominican house... More

If you are looking for a 5 star all inclusive, all perfect hotel, look elsewhere. Bahia Chiquita is another kind of place. Rooms are clean and spacious, very originally and beautifully decorated, you can have breakfast with a sea view or use the jacuzzi out in the garden. Yes, lights go out in Samana every now and then and the... More

I just got back from a vacation in Dominican Republic. Me and my friends were 3 days in Santo Domingo and 7 days in north of the country, in Samana Peninsula, at Bahia Chiquita, a beautiful villa closed to the beach with a romantic scenery. The rooms are very chic, built in caribbean style and very nice decorated and as... More

Although you can never expect everything the web shows you, you can expect to get some comforts. Bahia Chiquita we're sure was grand in its day but unfortunately the owner has let the place get run down. We had planned to spend a week here but unfortunately couldn't last but two nights. The lack of attention was for the most... More
