went 28 friends and family and only 3 of us didnt end up with some sort of irritating skin virus from who knows what, some of us had nicer rooms than others and most had either cockroaches or some sort of ants in them, fridge never restocked even though tips were left for house keeping, some area's smelled like rotten... more

A very nice resort with many choices of great food. The beach and ocean were awesome. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms were updated and very nice. The jacuzzi on the deck was great. We were at the resort from December 26 through January 2, 2010. The hotel and surrounding resort was very nice as were the people. First and very much foremost, there is a HUGE difference between the Barcelo Bavaro Beach and the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Deluxe. Sadly, I ruined a Christmas gift by not figuring out the difference.
