I have stayed at the Beaterio at least 5 times over the past two years. Each time has been excellent. This is truly my home away from home in Santo Domingo. A hidden gem. The hotel is convenient to El Conde and is right on Parque Duarte. There's a little bodega right next door. The service at the hotel is... More

This restored convent is loaded with architectural interest, colonial charm and interesting antiquities. The rooms are spacious and adequately furnished. If visiting the colonial zone is your desire - it was certainly ours - this is a great location to wander the area. The staff are cordial; breakfast is adequate and the place is very clean. More

We loved the atmosphere, charm, and history of this place--it's 500 years old. Very centrally located in Zona Colonial. Decent breakfast too. More

The location was not bad, with a shop next door where you can grab necessities like water, toothbrush, etc. The host was friendly and helpful. The rooms were cozy (stayed in room 7) and during the day and night, it's really quiet. The living room is beautiful decorated as well. I like the fact that it's walking distance to the... More

very pretty old convent turned into a hotel. Staff was great. Very helpful. Rooms were neat. Courtyard was very pretty. Location is close to sites. Breakfast was small but adequate. Beds were comfortable. Very pretty and redone very well. Probably not the place for everyone but if you love old places with a lot of history you will love it. More

This was my first visit to Santo Domingo & I really wanted to stay somewhere in the Colonial Zone (as it is a UNESCO Heritage Site). What i was hoping for was a place that also had a sense of history but was close to most of the historic sites, and that is exactly what this was. El Beaterio was... More

We spent one night in Hotel Beatario before flying back to New York. The building is beautiful. It’s a converted nunnery that retains an astonishing sense of its former life. You enter into a small reception area that turns into two small dining areas. Beyond these rooms is a gorgeous courtyard appointed with all manner of beautiful plants. Several rooms... More

Some of the rooms are very nice, with old style furniture and a cosy design. However, be aware of 1) air con in rooms will be charged separately at 500 pesos/night (and nobody will tell you ahead of time), 2) there is no air con in the lobby - which is the only place where they have WiFi internet (and... I was very surprised with the hotel, pretty cool place. The rooms are nicely decorated, and the bed is endless. It is a perfect spot for those who like antique style and enjoy medieval decorations. Breakfast included, very cool place! More
