ilocations stopped in for an espresso and stayed for lunch. very busy little street side cafe with an extensive menu. you can find locals and plenty of tourists here. the food is consistent and good. don't expect anything gourmet and the presentations are just like home. the charm here is the ability to read a book, people watch, listen to... My wife and I had a full dinner at the Calle Conde (literally "street" restaurant) streetside of the Hotel Conde de Penalba. We enjoyed a glass of wine before our meal and watched people hurrying home from work. It is just across the street from the Christoper Columbus statue and park and first Cathedral of America. I enjoyed a beef... More

We didn't stay at the hotel, but we ate at the restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Both meals were very excellent and the servers were very friendly. Prices were very affordable (90-250 pesos) considering hard rock cafe next door charged 350-500 pesos, and the steak and fish place farther down charged 350-750 pesos per meal. As you can tell, this... More

The prices of items in the market place are not set(they will not tell you). Therefore you are able to bargain for less usually half of what is offered. Take a taxi to other sites if you do not know the city or the language. You do not have to rent a car The hotel is an excellent location, walk... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We found the staff to be very helpful, especially Nurys, the day clerk, although we are both fluent in Spanish. English seemed to be in limited supply although I believe it was adequate enough if you don't speak Spanish. They didn't even charge me for some laundry they did for me.... More

We stayed in a nice corner suite with a balcony and a great view of city hall, the city, and the adjoining park. Even better views from the roof. There was plenty of space in the corner suite for our group to gather and relax. I then stayed solo two more days and moved into a cramped cheaper room with... More

I spent 7 days in the hotel in May 2010. I really enjoyed it. nice and warm rooms and great location in the middle of the colonial zone. As an architect I really enjoyed walking in the old city most of the day and spending time in the restaurants around the hotel. if you like old nice architecture... this hotel... More

I stayed at the hotel because a friend recommend it to me. I am a young guy and my friends are young too. My girlfriend arrived at the hotel after midnight and they didn't let her in. There was no signs posted and no one told us when we check in. So I check out that same night. More

If you like you freedom I would tell you to stay away from this hotel. If you want to go and come as you please I would recommend you find a new hotel. At 12 am they lock the door and the security guard and the front desk clerk go to sleep so you have to bang very hard on... More

Our group had two rooms, checking in late in the day after deciding to move from another hotel. We were at the hotel for 3 nights. Because we checked in late and with no reservation, my room the first night was an interior room with no windows while the couple I was with had a beautiful room on 3rd floor... More
