Melia Las Antillas ranks among the best resorts in Varadero. The hotel is surrounded by lush, mature gardens and fronts on the most beautiful part of the beach. The grounds are spacious but not so spread out that you need a trolley to get to breakfast. Low rise buildings and exterior stairs mean no need to wait for an elevator... more

Would suggest you do not book a Junior Economy Suite, as the locations of these rooms are subject to noise and other inconveniences and limited view of the beautiful grounds. We were disappointed with the lack of daily activities compared to other resorts. The activity display board was located in the interior of the building only and provided no visual... more

Even though this was officially our Honeymoon #2 and we tried to value it more than usual since longer duration vacations and, being further from home, more exotic vacations are not aplenty, looking back, what we remember of it is not great. This was one of those vacations where we wanted to enjoy it so much that we sought out... more

It's a nice but boring hotel. Iberostar Tainos (neighbouring hotel) is much better. The food was average. The beach was so-so (not enoght beach beds). The rooms are good but the [--] maids want a tip, else they turn off the air conditioning when you're away. Also the paying for the stay by credit card means 11% fee. Cuban nonsense. more

Dear Client: We are glad to know that you found the resort nice but at the same time we are sad to learn that you found it boring. Usually our entertainment tries very hard to have activities going on the whole day at both places, the pool and the beach and different night shows are always performed next to the...

Summary Newish when we went a nice, busy hotel where the rum flows freely by the pool or on the beach! Be warned though, we spent second day out of the sea as the beach was COVERED in portuguese men o war babies! Location We didn't go to Varadero for the sights, just for a relax on the beach after... more

Being a young couple and traveling with friends, we found this resort to be to quiet and found there wasn't that much of a night life. The beach was very beautiful and the ocean was calm you could swim and relax there without being bothered by the locals. the food at the main dining area was good but very bland.... more

The best....period. Well, that's how I'd like to make my review but I'll elaborate. Staff: Very friendly (All of them), very helpful too. Front counter, bell hops, phone room, bank, lounge, grounds keepers, disco, bars, restaurants, buffet, activities, life guard, beach security and all management, they all rocked. Really, it's not uncommon to run into some bad apples along the... more

Dear Mr. K: It was with great joy that we read your comments regarding your recent stay at our resort. We really felt happy to know that our main goals were achieved. You got home and you are already thinking in coming back. We really liked your first phrase, the best…period, it really says much about someone’s experience, you don´t...

Just returned from a week (Oct 25-Nov 1) at the Melia Las Antillas, Varadero (formerly Beaches,Varadero) We got what we thought was a good deal at $790 Cdn. each, taxes in, with Sunwing and I think it was good value for the money as the resort is rated a 4 star and ranked #7 of the Varadero resorts. Flights from... more

I stayed at this resort with my boyfriend- we just got back and had the time of our lives! First our of all its an adult-only resort which i highly recommend! You dont have kids splashing in the pool or playing around... crying screaming etc (which ive experienced before on vacation). ROOM: they were always kept very clean, the cleaning... more

Dear client: we are so happy to read your comments, it was with great joy that we convert through your words. It is really nice to learn that you had such a wonderful holiday while vacationing with us.
