We came back from Halcyon Cove on Saturday 23rd May, once again we had a wonderful time. The improvements made since our last visit are brilliant, the rooms now have brand new furniture, flat screen TV's are next. With the new bathrooms, new furniture and new air conditioning the rooms are very comfortable. Our room was kept clean by Shirma,... more

Only one bar open.that was the beach bar with, only the umbrellas to hide under when it rained, and when it was hot everybody in our party got bitten. The staff (not all) were rude and miserable and the only good meals were at breakfast.Someone told us they were going to rebuild the whole site ,all i can say is the sooner the... more

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. There seems to have been some misunderstanding with regards to the bars as during the day only the Carib (Beach) Bar opens as our guests usually spend the day either on the beach or around the pool. During the evenings we have a minimum of 2 bars open,...

we came back from the halcyon cove last thursday 7th may, and we had a truly great time. Fenton is just fantastic and a good guy, he just can't play pool very well, my wife beat him on 3 occasions. Errol was a very good bartender who kept us well stocked with our drinks. Joy in the restaurant, was such... more

Stayed at the Rex Halcyon Cove for two weeks during March 2009, previously visited same hotel in 1999. Booked with Virgin Holidays, special deals available in January, and paid £1100 per person for 14days All Inclusive. I appreciate this is a three star hotel but this still represents good value for money in the traditional Caribbean high season. The hotel... more

Beach & Location - Fantastic Rooms - Basic but clean Hotel - Very run down but is in the middle of being refurbished. Food - OK. If you are vegetarian and you are quite happy to live off chips/rice/bread/hard veg for a fortnight then this isn't the place for you. Entertainment - Very poor. The entertainment team consists of one... more

Ten day,s at the Halycon with the pleasure's of majority of staff with blinding smile.s, food of a constant good variety and taste, beach of powdered sand and a relaxing feel to the hotel that left us totally relaxed . Not your place if you want plastic facade,s of both furniture and staff behaviour, just a genuine 3, 3+, hotel... more

One of the best locations and great value for money. We had a free upgrade to a referbished room at the end of the beach. But best of all are the staff, There is family feeling about the hotel, the service was great. So thanks to Joy, Fenton, Julieann, Ken and all the others that made our stay so special. more

Had a fab time. People must remember that this is a 3 star property and as such should not expect 5 star accomodation. It would appear that there is refurbishing being carried out but we found the accomodation fine for what we paid. The staff however were FANTASTIC - a special mention must go to the ever smiling Fenton, an... more

We visited over the early Easter period and the hotel was definately less than half full, as a result there was slightly less pressure on the staff, but more importantly less pressure on the hotel infrastructure. We were treated exceptionally well by all staff ( Margerita, Corlita?, Jacqeline, Julie ann, Bernadette, Joy, Fenton to name a few and Ashton in... more

You expect resort hotels in Antigua to be over-priced but this took the biscuit with a £120/night room rate (room only) for what in most beach areas should have been more like £70/night. The room was nothing special but OK - the whole place needs a refurb as it's not been touched for several decades, and the on-site food was... more

I am sorry that your expectations were not met during your stay with us. There seems to have been some misunderstanding regarding our dining facilities as we have one a la carte restaurant which is on the Warri Pier, one buffet restaurant which is the Arawak Terrace, (the main restauant) and the Carib Grill where we serve a buffet lunch....
