We had a slightly shaky start here as there was a sign on the front door telling us to enter via the cellar bar, which involved a lot of steps and scruffy, narrow winding corridors - a bit much for my disabled mother with a case, but after realising the front door was actually open all along, we got over... The Merryburn hotel is a good family run hotel in Birnam just 5mins from railway station. Hilary is a very good host. The accomodation is excellent, nicely furnished and spotless. Also very good value for money. Meals are available and a good value for money. If you like your football when staying in the village the Merryburn is the only... More

We had a meal there before the wedding and the food was to die for (especially the Tomato and Herb Soup!!) The food at... More

Me and my wife come to Dunkeld fishing quiet a few times and stay for many weeks over the year. We didn't know of Hilary's place until our usual hotel didn't have any room one night. We can come to Dunkeld for a couple of day's and end up staying a couple of weeks so we usually extend our visit... More

This lovely wee hotel left us feeling more like having stayed with good friends and cannot be recommended enough. It is a small hotel with a very friendly bar and good restaurant and is all the better for it. Your host Hilary will do her best to make you feel relaxed and welcomed. We had bought our 2 night deal... More

We had a great time at this hotel. Our room was fine. . Just what we expected for the price. Clean and fresh with a little en suite. It was very quiet, I was a bit worried as a previous review mentioned it near the road, but I can honestly say I never hear the road. It is a family... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay here. the hotel appears to be a family run business, and from the outside we were made to feel like part of it! Rooms were clean friendly and relaxing, food was great, and every member of the staff was brilliant. beautiful area and well worth a stay here
