I had my hen do in Harrogate and we stayed at North Dockenbush. The owner was very helpful and let us use the dining room in the evening to "convene" and have drinks. The place is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and there are chickens in the yard and horses in the field next door. The rooms are gorgeous and... More

We arrived early, but were given a warm welcome by Liz who took us to the barn/cottage where we were staying. It was beautifully furnished and very clean. It was also warm, which was inviting on a cold day. We went over to the main house for breakfast which was very filling and beautifully cooked and presented. We had no... More

Unfortunately we had a slightly disappointing stay at North Dockenbush. When my wife phoned to make the booking the housekeeper took the call and was very abrupt and unhelpful. To be fair, when the owner called back later he was very polite, so we were not put off. However, when we arrived (could do with a bit more signposting by... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay in the stone cottage, which is situated behind the main house at North Dockenbush. Although there were just the 2 of us, we chose the cottage for the spaciousness. There are 2 bedrooms with en suites....one with shower and the other with bathtub/hose, complete kitchen, dining room and lounge. Not far from the cottage... More

The B&B is in a very quiet location so great if you want to get away from it all, and the only noise at night, if any, is from the resident ducks and chickens! The view of the countryside from the Plum room is beautiful, and the room itself is very clean and nicely presented, although it does need some... More

Different in a great way! North Dockenbush (aka 'Wintergreen') was a delightful find. In looking for a place to call 'base camp' for a rather expansive tour of the Yorkshires plus a few adjoining counties, I couldn't have chosen better. Oliver is a discrete, entirely welcoming host. I was shown to my lovely room (Plum) with adjoining private bath and... More

Absolutely gorgeous B&B, in a gorgeous location. This was our third visit. The owners were very nice and made feel at home. Ideally located in a small farm right in the middle of the countryside. We had stayed for the second time at their newly converted barn that has been done up to the highest standard. Although it does not... More

long overdue weekend break at this isolated but beautifully presented B&B - all the rooms are very tastefully decorated and the stable cottage is equally so. excellent breakfast and terrifc location for touring local areas - harrogate a must but maybe book in advance at bettys' tea rooms to avoid queue - the baths also - a much better alternative... Just returned from a 3-night stay here, our second in a couple of years. Overall, North Dockenbush is a great, tucked away B&B and good value for money, and Oliver is a welcoming host. Plus points......lovely, comfortable rooms and decent bathrooms; very quiet and peaceful location; more convenient for visiting the locality (Harrogate, Knaresborough etc) than its remote location might... Booked (4th August) for a one night stay on Sunday 29th August via email and then owner confirmed by telephone and took my card details for a deposit. I requested email confirmation which did not arrive. I phoned him after returning from annual holiday (Thursday 26th August) and owner disclaimed any knowledge of email, phone conversation or indeed the booking,... More
