Ok rooms but not 5 star. I have travelled the world and i would rate this establishment between 2.5 to 3 star. Broken items in showers and bathroom. Shower heads that leak and drip, TV selection pathetic not full DSTV. To have breakfast in a long table set up with other people you dont know upsets the day and is... More

The perfect combination of a quiete place to stay, in the nature, 20 km from the big city Durban and full of african art. All the rooms are wonderfull and unique but if you can, take the very large presidential suite, a once in a lifetime experience! Also to mention is the warm welcome and friendliness.

We were very surprised and impressed by the unusual, colorful, arty decor, the suites are stunningly appointed with awesome heavy wooden Zanzibar style furnishings, the bathroom huge and well laid out. We were looking for a relaxing breakaway and that's exactly what we found at Ammazulu, the breakfast wasn't much to speak of and service lacking but the room more... More

Ammazulu is not your run of the mill hotel, I will give it that. The eclectic style and amazing artwork made for a unique accomodation. However the service leaves a lot to be desired. Upon arrival there is no real welcome or information provided, you are required to carry your own luggage to your room, we were even put in... More

The place is impressive, great value for money, excellent staff and impressive views. The only negative was the not so comfortable living room furniture, but hotel rooms are for sleeping or waking up, not watching TV. The bed base had sharp edges which initially caused some painful moments, but I learnt to give the bed a wide berth. The bathroom... More

Ammazulu Palace is on a unassuming residential rode. The steep driveway up to the property opens up to what is really quite an amazing building full of colour and character. The rooms / suites are all individual. Mine had a separate sitting area the usual TV, min bar etc, balcony, beautiful bathroom and a very comfortable bed/room. The high ceilings... More

We stayed at the Ammazulu palace in December 2011 and what a positive experience this was. The place is spectacular and the suites are very well appointed. The lounge where breakfast is being served overlooks a beautiful nature reserve. Our hosts, who are also qualified chefs, cooked an excellent dinner as well for us and friends. And wait until you... I was booked into the Ammazulu African Palace by a business partner that I was visiting in Durban and I have to admit that I am more than impressed. Not only is the place itself extremely amazíng, from the location on the edge of the cliffs, through the quality of everything right down to the extreme service level presented by... More

I spent one night at the Ammazulu Palace outside Durban a couple of weeks ago and let me tell you it was an unreal experience! We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and the woman who ran the hotel could not have been more helpful or nicer. She did EVERYTHING she could in order to help us enjoy our... More
