We recently spent a one night stopover at the Marchbankwood House in Beattock on our way to the Highlands of Scotland and we were very happy with our stay. We were greeted on our arrival and looked after during our stay. This is a beautiful house which is situated in a lovely location. Our rooms were comfortable, spacious and tastefully... More

This must be the best B and B we have stayed at. Fabulous house, gorgeous views, (loved watching the swallows from the breakfast room window), well equipped room, crisp white sheets, first class breakfast, pleasant and helpful hosts. Very well positioned for visiting Edinburgh and the Solway Coast. What more could you wish for? More

We stayed for a couple of days at the beginning of July and we were made very welcome. This is a lovely spot made all the more special by Sally, Alistair and Samantha. We spent a couple of relaxing evenings in the sun sipping Beer/G & T on the lawn looking over to the hills surrounding Moffat throwing the ball... More

My wife and I went to Marchbankwood House to have a weekend break away to celebrate her Birthday. It was excellent in every respect and well worthy of the five star reviews that I had previously read on here. The owners, Alistair and Sally, attend to every detail. Lovely accommodation in country house. Breakfast excellent. It is a shame, however,... More

Service was beyound question, friendly, profesional, spot on, good breakfast Room was large, high ceilings, spotless, old country house style. Location very handy for M74 longtrips. Like the entire experience, disliked nothing. Certainly would go back. More

Stayed here twice and on both times, impressed with room quality, location and the breakfast in the morning. On each time we had different rooms. Both were en-suite and the beds were comfy. More

Marchbankwood House is an excellent B&B in a perfect location. I cannot recommend it highly enough The room we stayed in was clean, very comforatable and well equipped. The owners were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast they provided was delicious. The setting of the B&B is stunning and it is minutes from the M74. Don't stay at the... More

We stopped over at Marchbankwood House on our way further north and couldnt have picked a better overnight stop. The room was lovely, being large, bright and comfortable with outstanding views and the biggest shower room we have ever seen! We were greeted by Sally with tea and shortbread, and by Meg the dog with her variety of toys for... More
