We spent just one night at John Muir Lodge when visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon, whilst driving between Yosemite and Death Valley. Although we visited in May there was still a lot of snow on the ground and John Muir Lodge was extremely cosy and welcoming with a big fire in the entrance place. The rooms are very tastefully furnished... More

The stay at the lodge was very pleasant -- warm, quiet, great water pressure. It was nice relaxing in the great room at night when the fire is set up in the fireplace. For a bit more money we could've stayed at Montecito Sequoia for the all-inclusive package (meals included, buffet style). But the scene at Montecito was families with... More

we stayed here for two nites while visiting the park. the rooms were very clean and decorated nicely. the lobby area is nice and homey with a large fireplace where people gather in the evening to chat and play games around the fire. no phones and no tv's what more could you ask for. oh yes the scenery is beautiful,... My wife and I went for a quick get away to the Sequoia's. We stayed at the Lodge and ate at the Lodge restaurant. Lodging: The rooms are on the Spartan side but very comfortable. We enjoyed a quiet night before our next day adventures by the fire in the Great Room. It was cozy and romantic and we slept... More

Many nice features! A couple of warnings: 1. There is no one on site to maintain order or to let you in if you arrive after 10pm. (The lodge is managed from a distance.) 2. Although there is no cooking allowed in the rooms, they do have a kitchen (with microwave) on the first floor--BUT GUESTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO... More

We stayed at the Lodge over Veterans' Day weekend. It seems very recently renovated or built - basically a big box of a building with rooms along main corridors on two floors. Our king bed room was fairly large and comfortable, well furnished and very clean. I was worried about our noisy neighbors across the hall, and we did hear... More

Stayed there last December. Lots of snow on the ground, which is a treat to warm-weather Texans. While the lodge is not historic, care has been made to showcase historic photos of the park. The great room had an impressive fireplace and was the only place where the internet worked, but considering we were in the Sequoia National Park, who... More

Just back from a very relaxing stay at John Muir Lodge. The room (king sized bed) was very comfortable and cozy, and very well appointed. We did have some trouble with the toilet, which refused to flush. It has a push button on top of the tank lid, which operates a plunger on top of the internal Sloan Flushmatic water... More

Just left here after a two day stop over. Very clean and comfortable. Plumbing might have been a bit noisy, but was no problem. Little market, gift shop and restaurant all very good. More
