We stayed here just for the one night, wished time had allowed us to stay at least another night. You can't beat the location right on the rim, we had a rim view and in the morning opened the window to see Elk grazing right outside. Yes the lodge is dated but it fits in with the park. I didn't... Staying at the Kachina was all about the location. You can't beat walking out of the hotel room and being on the rim of the Grand Canyon. We walked all around the South rim and rode the park shuttles when we wanted to go out to some of the further points along the rim. We enjoyed seeing the Elk in... More

You are just steps away from the ridge of the Grand Canyon. Our room was lovely. The beds were comfortable. This is an older building but it has been updated. You check in at the El Tovar Hotel which gives you an opportunity to see that hotel. We had a a[[etizer on the porch and enjoyed the scenery. Parking is... More

Kachina is not a pretty building and is fairly basic but the location right on the edge of the Grand Canyon south rim cannot be beaten. Set your expectations for the accommodation at the right level and possibly, like us, you will be pleasantly surprised. The rooms have en-suite, fridge, safe, TV etc. We stayed in a partial canyon view... More

This hotel is 60 feet from the rim. The room was nice but would have appreciated a table and 2 chairs and a microwave. It was pretty well filled with the two queen beds, a desk and a small bureau. The reason I only rated it at 4 stars is that the parking situation is totally out of control. There... More

We just spent 1 night here, which was perfect if you aren't doing any serious hiking into the Canyon. The room was listed as a 'partial view' room so we were pleasantly surprised to see it actually faced the Canyon. Sure, it's not right on the Canyon's edge (there's grass and then a sidewalk), but still very nice. The room... More

The hotel took us by surprise especially with a very non-descript name.. The rooms were very comfortable and accessible to restaurants. Also has quick access to Sun rise & Sun set view points.. You also have a trail going in nearby from this hotel.. overall a very convenient place.. Esp with kids this place can be really relaxing.. More

We booked a room with a partial-view and like the other reviews, it paid off! Gorgeous view of the canyon. Once you park (and this a TALL order! It is a lot like trying to find a parking spot at a mall on Christmas Eve - expect with 1/20th of the space), you can walk to many places. We had... More

This lodge is well located on the south rim. It is next door to the El Tovar lodge where "fine dining" can be enjoyed. Our room seemed to have been recently refurbished. It was quite tastefully decorated. It had some very good ammenities such as an excellent coffee machine and a refridgerator. The bedroom and bathroom were both very clean.... More

This was a very clean and convenient hotel room. We looked at a room at the El Tovar and decided we got the better deal. We had no common rooms and no internet, but almost exactly the same room (actually, the bathroom is bigger at El Tovar). Not worth the extra $ in our opinion. We would stay here again... More
