Two couples (sisters and their husbands - starting a R2R hike) had a tent reservation on T-5. It's just yards from the rim. Before we set up our tents in the "oversized kitty litter box" (if you've been there, you know of what I write - the tent pad is 4x4s with a sand base), we looked at the view... More

I have camped in many national parks and in some remote locations along the Alaska Highway, but this campground gave me the creeps a little. They have some tent sites that are set off down a dirt road not too far from the rim of a side canyon (maybe 20 feet, which is too close for my comfort). You couldn't... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in a tent this past August. The campground was awesome. We had a campsite #70 which was in the inner area of the campground, and a short walk to the rim of the Grand Canyon. Although our campsite did not have a great view, it was close to 2 bathrooms. Each morning we walked... More

Do yourself a favor and book early so you can get one of the rim view campsites. We stayed in site #4 and just loved it. We cooked our dinner and ate it on a rock overlooking the rim- what more could we ask for a view?! Each site comes with a large pad, fire pit, and picnic table. Nice... More

This was our first camping trip - we had 2 nights at the campground. We were in site 5, which is close to the edge of the canyon, giving excellent views. The camp sites are spread throughout trees, and being at the edge gave a feeling of privacy. Each pitch has a picnic bench an a fire pit, as well... More

Good campground. We were in a tent only area in the site #6 right by the edge of the canyon. I was particularly impressed by their showers. Water pressure was just a notch weaker than a police crowd control water hose. Just the way I like it. More

We stayed in site 23 and it was fabulous as both a tent and RV site. It was really large and spread out, so there was plenty of room for the kids to run around. Water and restrooms were just across the way. There was a good bit of shade (table sunny in the middle of the day but we... More

This campground is much less crowded than going to the south rim. Wonderful sites and general store. Not too many RVs. We were using tents and felt very comfortable and not crowded even though the campground was full. This campground has a lot more amenities than many other US campgrounds. More

The tent loop only was really nice. Great canyon views. Reserve them early. Any sites in this campground, especially on outside of loops look good. More

So, we knew it was going to be cold, but we just weren't prepared for HOW cold. One night the temperature dropped into the mid-30s (this was the first week of September) and even in the day it didn't get much above the mid-60s. It didn't help anything that it was also quite windy. Also, be aware that if you're... More
