For the location a very nice place to stay. Clean, quite, large room, and plenty of hot water. Very good on ground shuttle service. Has a good walking trail around the grounds. The Cabin Night Theater on was just a short distance from our room/lodge. Would stay again and recommend to friends.

Rooms are very rustic but clean. Front desk service was very accommodating. We ate in the bar a couple of times and the food was very good. Staff was always pleasant and helped make the overall experience pleasant.

Stayed as part of Holland America cruise/tour. Stayed in the lodge which is down a steep hill from the main lobby and restaurants. Room was comfortable and clean. Nothing special about the rooms in the lodge. Short walk to beautfiul view along the river and beautiful mountains all around. We ate at the Sourdough Trading Company onsite, and the food... More

When we were told we we were taking the Tundra Wilderness tour, the Chalet was just as we expected...a wilderness cabin. We loved it!! It was close to the Visitors center, shopping for souvenirs, and resturants with good eats. Just what we wanted. We're glad our travel agent chose this Chalet.

McKinley Chalet Resort comprises many buildings. Our stay was at the Chalet Canyon Lodge which was a short walk down a steep path from the main check-in area. Our room was on the ground floor, and was quite comfortable but rather dark. A shuttle bus ran around the whole complex so that those people staying further away from the main... More

This place is a mess. If your cruise line sticks you here try to stay in the lodge. The rooms "down the hill" are old small and dirty. It is a long walk back to the lodge for anything, while they do have a shuttle van it's always full and you will wait a long time for it. The biggest... More

If you plan on staying here, and spending anytime in your room to rest, I would suggest you ask for the river view in the Cotton Woods building. These rooms do have a view of the river. We started out in one of the other buildings and the room was awful. No view, separate rooms for the two very small... More

While in Denali the experience is all about getting out, therefore our hotel needs were minimal: central location with access to tours and views, a comfortable bed and standard bathroom to clean up. The McKinley Chalet location was excellent - close to the main "strip" of the town with restaurants, shops, and tours. Additionally, most tours picked up and dropped... More

I'm guessing nobody would stay here if Denali wasn't a mile away. The staff is helpful and the setting is nice. We had a cottonwood room, supposedly a better room and I paid extra for it. Don't waist your money. Cottonwood is removed from the main area and our room was just like an economy hotel room. Breakfast at the... More

First of all, this is a large resort (27 buildings on the property) and based on other reviews it seems like the rooms vary widely. Our room was locating in building V which is about as far from the lobby as you can get. There is no direct way to get to the first floor of this building. It is... More
