We unfortunately could only stay one night, if you're there to see all the sights of Death Valley, you definetly need at least an extra night, but was OK since I've been there many times. We stayed in the "walk-in tent loop" section which is very quiet since there are no RV's/generators to deal with. The campground is conveniently located... More

Furnace Creek campground is good enough and spread out well. It's well located for most day trips out to the rest of the national park for sure. Being the only one bookable in advance, even in November (not Thanksgiving weekend) by about 4pm it was almost fully-booked; so be warned. There are two others operating on a first come first... We had a great site and our fellow campers were great except for the one wacko who was compelled to 1) violate flag etiquette by flying an un-illuminated flag after sunset and 2) play both America the Beautiful and then taps on a trumpet!! After others in the campground expressed their displeasure, he finally shut up and a peaceful evening... More

Furnace Creek is hand's down the best campground within Death Valley National Park. Centrally located, which makes day trips out to the rest of the park easy. Rangers and campground Hosts were very friendly. Bathrooms are basic, but clean. No lights in the bathrooms at night, so make sure to bring a flashlight. I highly reccommend reserving a site next... We spent three nights at site 39 which provided a decent amount of shade for hiding the tent (stayed in the tent-only loop). Fire pit and grill provided, and campsite clean and well-managed. Bathroom nearby, but only three stalls and two sinks. No hot water or showers. Have to go to Inn for that...$5 per person. Only frustration was the... More

Loved this place, Death Valley was a real surprise to us as there is so much to see here. The campground is right in the centre, so very hot, but you can go out early morning or early evening and see salt flats, sand dunes, marble lined canyons, wildflowers etc. There's lots of wildlife, particularly around the sand dunes, with... Our family enjoyed four wonderful nights camping at the NPS Furnace Creek campground. This is the only campground that accepts reservations in Death Valley, and is the nicest by far. Lots of pretty trees and shrubs, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The toilets are clean and well maintained, but there are no showers. You can pay for showers... More

We arrived 5 days before the season and did not require reservations for the campsite. We had a tent and normal accompaniment of camping equipment. When we pulled in on a Saturday afternoon. We pretty much had the run of choice sites and selected #29. This site has cover to the west with Tamarisk trees and therefore blocks most of... More

My mate and I from Australia went on a road trip across the states last year and this was one of our stops. The campsite was mainly deserted with the temp pushing 48deg c. we had a small cooking fire during the night and to our surprise it lured in a couple of hungry rabbits. We tried shooing them away...
