I wrote this below on my last review. But after seeing that so many people are using the review, I wanted to give much more detail for first time visitors to help them to plan and give much more useful information so here it is. Canyonlands National Park is my favorite spot of all the National Parks in the area.... More

In April I was here for the second time- and another great stay at a wonderful place! I simply don't understand, why other peaple write here about problems with the owners- both are very friedly and helpful. I think, it depends, how you as a camper behave yourself- if you drive into the campground with 20 mph, causing a lut... More

We spent three nights over spring break. The bathrooms are the cleanest we've ever seen at a campground. The campsite we stayed at was right up against red rocks that made for great climbing and fabulous sunset views and the views of the Canyonlands from here is really amazing. Unlike the park campsite, this one has reservations, so you know... More

I had nearly the same experience as JD. Although Canyonlands Needles District is a must see, pack in your stuff early, and DO NOT visit this place. This woman is **INSANE**. After driving more than 8 hours, I thought this was the place I was staying, so I checked in with her. She said there were no groups under that... More

I just got back from a 3 night stay at the Needles Outpost and I can honestly say, I've never had a better experience at a commercial campground! Tracey and Gary were gracious, accommodating, and just uber-nice to chat with and deal with! As many of the reviews have stated, the facilities are spotless, the water hot, and the store... More

Like many of the other reviews here, we had a terrible encounter with the woman who runs this place. We arrived at the Needles Outpost hoping to camp there but we were met by a derranged lunatic woman who was clearly on drugs. She flailed about wildly, while screaming because we bypassed the store (that looked closed or vacant) to... More

I have been coming to Canyonlands for 30 years. Over that time I had to stay at the outpost number of times. The outpost was purchase the current owner in 98. The sites are rustic and in recent years they have added showers and a bathroom. The showers rarely supply enough hot water so be the first or wait until... More

Iafter looking at the campsites inside the Needles-park, I decided to prefer the Needles Outpost. Why? Simply, because it is better there. Clean restrooms, Hot Showers, very nice sites close to the rocks -you can watch the sunset-and you can get cold drinks there .(you'll problably need them after a hiking day in th Needles) And the Owners-friendly, helpful, giving... Because the campsite in the park was full, we tried id by Tracey. Excellent place, excellent people, Places better/bigger than in park and much more view on the desert. Perfect place to drive to park and go back at evening! More

There have been several reviews focusing on the lady who runs the place. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon not expecting an open spot in the National Park. While that was indeed the case, we were armed and ready with what the owner may do with us when we pulled up. We stopped at the store first, which was good... More
