We had reserved the new cabins, but they were not ready when we checked in. They offered us a rustic cabin and said that we could cancel with no penalty if we did not like it. We decided to try them. They are very small, but clean. They have a/c window units, but we decided to open up our screened... More

I totally understand the mixed reviews Cedar Pass Lodge gets. On one hand, it's in the best possible location in the Badlands. Wildlife and beautiful scenery abound. One the other hand, the cabins are dated and sevice is nonexistant. When we arrived, there were 3 sets of guests. Instead of putting each set into individual cabins, they put all 3... More

Location...there really wasn't anything else very GREAT about the Cedar Pass Lodge Cabins; everything was just okay. We did get to see the new cabins and they looked very nice. Wish we could've been in those. As it is, we stayed in one of the older cabins. It was clean and quiet. Beds were okay. I'd definitely recommend as an... More

Although the location in the Badlands was excellent, I was dissapointed in the condition of the cabin. Very outdated. They should scrap the curtains and old carpeting. More

Thank you for your comments regarding the accommodations at Cedar Pass Lodge. This season the National Park Service is replacing the older, small cabins with new units as a choice for visitors who wish to stay in Badlands National Park. The cabins are being built to Gold LEED specifications and outfitted with regionally hand crafted queen and king size beds... More

As with any place I'm staying that isn't home I was worried. My group and I stayed here in May/June of 2009 (I know it says 2011 but there was no option for an earlier date) and were very pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed ourselves. It was a very comfortable and clean stay. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating.... More

This is a unique experience to be in the Badlands! It was like landing on the moon, such was the landscape/topography - absolutely brilliant to sit outside the little, spotless cottage, sipping a beer and watching the colors/colours change in those strange rock-like formations. This is a no frills experience, which made it all the more authentic. Since we travel... More

I stayed in a Cabin at Cedar Pass in Badlands National Park prior to my becoming familiar with Trip Advisor. I stayed there in September 2005, so my review is based upon what I remember & wrote in my travel journal. I found the circle of cabins to be an endearing site. Like a simpler time and place. The cabins... More

Much like other reviews have said, if you need lots of fanciness and amenities, this is definitely not for you. Yes, I hopped into the shower and a large, hairy spider popped out from between the wall and shower enclosure but a little more caulk would fix that. It's kind of glorified camping, really. But I couldn't care less about... More

If you need lots of creature comforts, look elsewhere. But if you want to be in the Badlands, with great scenery and easy access to hiking and sites, these cabins are great. They're a little rough around the edges (the screen door was a bit warped, for example) but clean, functional, and provide the basics. We stayed for a single... More

We stayed in what the resort called the "honeymoon" cabin (33). The cabin was very rustic. The room was fairly clean, but very old and dated. If you want or expect a 2 to 5 star hotel, you will not be happy with this cabin. If you're the type of person who enjoys camping and is not afraid to have... More
