This B&B sits in acres of gardens and hundreds of acres of open fields which overlook the softly wooded Derwent Valley. We provide a range of rooms, private suites, and self catering cottages to suit every requirement. The accommodation is well placed for visiting all the attractions of the Peak District and the many museums and houses of the Derwent Valley. It is also situated only 30-50minutes from the major cities of Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield making it an ideal retreat for business related accommodation.

The B&B is almost a misnomer. It is a 'granny flat' and so has far more room than most other B&B's I have encountered. On top of this it is extremely well outfitted with almost anything you can desire - TV, CD, Video and a very well equipped kitchen with microwave and full size oven. Initially I was a little dubious about the breakfast ' tray ' however what was provided was really good;- a full loaf of bread, Danishes, Yoghurt, Fresh Juice, Fruits, Muesesli and cereals along with coffees and tea. Mine hosts are most pleasant people and enthusiastic in their approach. In the fine weather the large natural garden is a wonderful place to sit and relax.

Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure having you stay with us. Kindest regards, Keith & Daryl. PS. I know you did not use the oven and hob, but I know that you will understand that I need to point out the oven and hob may not be used by B&B guests.

Have stayed here a few times and I always appreciate their warm welcome and having the amenities like a kitchenette and a spacious lounge in which to relax. Lovely property and the chance to walk in the fields nearby was a bonus. Very quiet area and as a woman travelling alone I felt very secure and comfortable in the suite.

Lovely friendly hosts and excellent accommodation - comfortable, clean, warm, everything we needed, in a lovely setting. All on one level, with walk-in shower, so suitable for anyone who finds steps difficult.

We've just had a weekend stay at the suite, our first nights away from our 8month old baby! Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Enjoyed sitting out enjoying the view of the gardens. Best part about the stay was definitely the breakfasts! All lovely and fresh. Thank you Keith and Darryl for being fantastic hosts, looking forward to next time :) Matt & Elaina xx

We have just returned from a long weekend at this beautiful cottage. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and this was truly one of the best. The quality and cleanliness of the accommodation was first class and nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly owners. It was very well equipped and we were even lent some current DVD's. Anyone booking this lovely cottage will not be disappointed.

Visiting Crich to attend a party, we simply needed a B&B. However, upon arriving we realised that my partners dress had been marked and my shirt was totally creased, plus we were running late. The owners of the B&B not only tried their best to help us get the stain out (and provided an iron), but they drove us to the party, which I'm pretty sure wasn't included in the price :O) They are genuinely lovely people and couldn't do enough for us - 1st class. The beautiful house and rooms are tastefully decorated and quiet, the breakfast was superb and the atmosphere was one of comfort (and as mentioned above kindness). It's a stunning part of the world and whether visiting for a night or for several days, this is a lovely place to reset your head.

My wife and I stayed overnight whilst attending a party in Crich on a rare trip together without the kids! The room was comfortable, breakfast excellent, hosts very friendly and the lift into Crich when we running late was much appreciated.

Stayed in the Annexe that was very clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Quiet and peaceful surroundings with very large garden that is lovingly cared for. Keith and Daryl provided substantial and delicious breakfasts that set us up for our sightseeing trips. They were also very friendly and helpful with information on places to eat in the area. We will try and return soon and recommend Penrose Avista. Georgie and Brian from Havant, Hampshire.

A perfect oasis - combination of self catering and B&B in beautiful quiet surroundings Owners attentive and helpful - even gave us a lift back to the pub to pick up car! Not suitable for young children Near to village where there is a pub and restaurant ( not too brilliant tho')

Thank you for your kind comments. Sorry the local village pub and restaurant was "not too brilliant" we will direct you to a better pub&restaurant, just the other side of the village, next time you are here.
