We felt as though we were staying with old friends, one of whom was a very good cook. Cate and Roy went to considerable lengths to ensure that we were welcomed and treated with every possible consideration. We would not hesitate to go back and would recommend it to anyone who asked. Good food. Good accommodation. Excellent hosts. What more... More

Spent the evening here with my wife on our way to Longleat, our room was very spacious and clean and quiet and we loved the decor and the free standing bath, the room could have benefited with a fridge. The Food was simply gorgeous we had steaks and they were cooked to perfection and the field mushrooms were the best... More

Arrived at 7pm, were seated at our table before we were able to get our drinks - had to wait 10 mins before drinks order taken, another 10 mins for drinks to arrive and then 45 mins before food arrived [only 1 other table before us]. Menu very limited - 5 mains. Food was nice but not worth the wait. More

We stayed here for one night after a trip to Longleat. As we arrived we were given a friendly welcome and shown to our room, which lived up to expectations! A four poster bed which was very comfortable and a free standing bath which we think gave the room an extra special touch. We had informed the owners that I... More

Stayed here for one night after a trip to longleat for my 21st birthday. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. Modern but with traditional touches. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was immaculate. The owners/staff were very welcoming, friendly and flexible. Didn't get chance to eat in the evening as we already had plans to meet... More

We stayed here for a wedding and were really pleased with everything so we left a big tip - we don't normally do this so this shows how impressed we were. The staff were really friendly and very kindly allowed us to stay in our room for 3 hrs after checkout time which was much appreciated! Would definitely go back... More

We stayed overnight and were really impressed with our room - lots of space, a free standing bath and a comfortable bed. The food was excellent with real ale on tap, a decent wine list and friendly service. This is great value for money and very close to Stourhead NT - I am sure we will be back. More
