Stopped by in this hotel just for a drink , and what an odd place! It looks like something in a time warp , really cheap looking tatty old furniture , lots of dogs rushing about the bar area , strange rather offhand staff . However the place seemed quite popular with the locals but I would guess it is... More

came back to port for the gala as i do every year. expected the norm, sandy hanging of the bar drunk, insults etc but to mine and my wifes pleasent surprise we got the exact opposite. Sandy was no where to be seen and in his place there were new staff who knew what they were doing, kept a strong... More

Fair play t Sandy, if I´d i good fortune to own it ,iwouldna change a thing.Good crack, fire on a the time(summer included)rakes o drink being consumed all around, fair scran, comfy beds and "The Hat" waiting in the wings ready for an impromptu rendition of a wide and varied range of eclectic blues/rock/electrofunk pop. I,ll be back for sure(once the bans up!)

On arrival i was welcomed by a very obnoxious man,who was clearly incompetent and completely intoxicated with alcohol,to my amazement i discovered it was he owner and not some random drunk. A younger woman appeared and gave us a warm welcome and asked if we would like a drink and to have a look at a menu .The hotel owner... More

We first went there as a family three years ago, had wonderful food, excellent service, and met the lovely friendly staff. This time.....total nightmare. The food was still good - though a much reduced menu - but the owner was drunk and extremely rude to his staff, and there was a - literal - dog fight in the bar which... More

We didn't stay there we had lunch. A totally souless L-shaped bar (apparently they have live music some evenings) with nobody else in. But a decent pint and fantastic fresh fish 'n' chips and "gourmet" scampi. The chef/owner came out of the kitchen, totally hammered, advised us to choose the fish as it was fresh in, staggered around the bar... More
