Stayed for 5 days in early October using as a base for visiting Istanbul daily by ferry. Lovely location and house and excellent hosts in Joanna & Ilhame. The house is situated high up above the town on the r.h.s. on one of the top streets. Easy to find and a 10 minute walk to and from the ferries. It... More

Ilhame and Johanna run a perfect B&B in a restored wooden Ottomon-era Yali hanging over Hybeliada on the Prince's Islands. The rooms and gardens are generous, beautiful, calm and elegant; the hosts are there when you need them but discreet when you don't - their daughters are delightful; the breakfasts are delicious; their recommendations are spot-on, especially for independent travellers... We stayed in the probably best B&B of Istanbul owned by two academics: Kuleli Kosk, We stayed there for 5 days in February 2011 and had a wonderful holiday! The location was perfect: on the HEYBELIADA, the Prince Island of Istanbul. We, my Turkish girl friend and I, walked in the wonderful but tiresome old city centre during the day... More

This B&B represents the true ‘essence’ of our global world. The owners are not only friendly, accommodating and generous, but also very knowledgeable. Both my wife and I work at a university in Ankara and each time we have the chance to visit Kuleli Kosk we have a great pleasure to talk with the Swedish-Turkish couple about several interesting subjects... I was looking forward to a weekend break at this lovely looking in. However, as I called from a Turkish number, I was informed of their policy, "We do not take Turks." It 's not a place I will be going to. More

Hi, This comment is so unfair; we tried to explain what really happened to Suzanne by sending emails (but without any response). Obviously, for some reason she has chosen not to listen to our explanation. We have written Suzanne twice and tried to explain what might have happened with following words: “Dear Suzanne, it must be a gross mistake; Kuleli... More

Kuleli Kosk is an absolutely beautiful traditional wooden house at the top of a steep hill with outstanding views. The sea breeze provided natural air conditioning of an evening. Johanna and Ilhami were charming, knowlegable, friendly and very helpful hosts. They really couldn't do enough for us, and I only hope that we didn't cause them too much trouble! We... More

There is not many more elegant, more artfully arranged spot in Istanbul than this stylish and beautiful and recently renovated accommodation with an exceptional view on the Marmara Sea, the island, and Istanbul. It is romantic, their breakfast fabulous and the hosts are agreeably friendly. More

I nearly don't want to share this place but it would be unfair to Ilhami and Johanna who run such a classy operation. We had the Green and Red rooms, a beautiful-no, breathtaking-balcony and even use of our own little kitchen downstairs, chairs outside, a sitting room, coffee tea, lemonade and fruit on arrival, fantastic breakfast and lovely interesting and cultured... We stayed at Kuleli Kosk for two nights and had a fantastic time. It's a traditional B&B in a 100+ year old house, restored to perfection. Johanna and Ilhami are excellent hosts and the breakfast is varied and fantastic. Location is fantastic. Like most Mediterranean islands, you're going to be walking up hills and steps, but it's probably only 10-15... More

We stayed at Kuleli Kosk for 3 nights and that was the highlight of out trip to turkey. The Island is stunning and very laid back and a welcome relief from the hustle of Istanbul. The house was very comfortable and clean, has an excellent view and is within easy walking distance to the town. Johanna and illhami were excellent... More
