Totally neglected estate. It seems like everything in a hurry to leave after an unpleasant event. Villa Mandarin appears to consist of two separate parts so that our children have to sleep in separate buildings, separated by a road. Website does not totally reflect reality! In september 2008 we stayed 3 nights at Gianferrante. What can we say.... A great place to go! The green valley around Gianferrante is wonderfull.... The restaurant is very good. The cookingcourse was fantastic!! We did some daytips (Etna.. very easy to reach from there) and some relaxing. Gianferrante-people are very helpfull and friendly. Thanks for that!!! Gianferrante is a great base for exploring Catania and the Etna. It could be described as a small-scale resort or a very comfortable agriturismo. When we were there, the other guests were couples and families with small children, many Dutch. The grounds have enough to offer to spend days without going anywhere.
