We have just returned from a three night stay in the hotel. Very enjoyable, the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Friends who have lived in Dumfries for over 15 years and never visited the hotel joined us for dinner on saturday and were stll talking about the high quality of food when we saw them again... More

Stayed here in between christmas and new year. A great country house which allows dogs too. Lovely to sit by the fire in the library with a book a glass of red wine and your dog happily at your feet. Lots of nice walks straight form the front door, and a handy map in your room to help you find... More

My husband and I are big animal lovers. When we decided to book a trip to Scotland the first thing I did was try to find any place to stay that would have animals on the property. When I queried this online the only place that I could find was Trigony. We had no idea where the hotel was; even... More

A fantastic couple of days spent at Trigony House relaxing after a hectic Christmas and New Year. Fantastic value for money, excellent accommodation plus great food and service from all the staff, would definitely return. More

My bride and our families stayed at Trigony House on the 16th and 17th December for our wedding. We were married at Crichton Church in Dumfries on the 17th and chose to have our reception at Trigony on the Saturday. Our wedding nearly didn't happen because we were originally booked into the nearby Whitecroft Mansion which closed its doors in... More

I do not want to appear harsh as its clear that you have many happy guests, however, our main issue is with the description of "luxury hotel" I found the hotel 'on line' after looking for a hotel under the heading of luxury & dog friendly, and came away for a little romantic night. We are very well travelled and... More

This review is both shocking to us and extremely worrying, Cleanliness is one of our biggest concerns throughout the hotel & grounds & it is also one of our most frequent compliments that "the hotel is spoless". The rear of the hotel which is overlooked by woodland & mature trees is simply never scattered with rubbish, we take a great... More

Stayed a couple of days before Christmas, As usual the hotel (Country House Hotel really) was cosy and welcoming. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the superior rooms are spacious with large beds and quality linen and the food really is a "cut above", all fresh, most of it locally sourced and expertly cooked. The breakfasts too are superb. The... More

We have just returned from our second stay at Trigony, and we were not disappointed. Our memories of our first weekend were enhanced. The food and hospitality were excellent and we were made very welcome and comfortable. Our room was very good, warm, clean and allowed us easy access to enjoy the surrounding countryside. There is a definite country house... More

We stayed here on route to Scotland as the hotel is ideally placed for those Southerners heading into Scotland and is pet friendly (which in our experience is a rare thing indeed). We had a standard double overlooking the garden which was surprisingly spacious with ample room for all our luggage plus our giant dog bed. It was very clean,... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Hotel. We are delighted that you found us genuinely pet friendly and enjoyed the few arts and crafts touches that we have around the Hotel in keeping with the style of the building. Although I have noted the drawback of the cistern and will endeavour to correct this... More

A very pleasant and relaxing 2 days in the south west of Scotland. As previously the hotal was excellent with wonderful breakfasts and dinners. They had no difficulty with providing for a glutem free diet (although they had been unable to get bread before we arrived, they were happy to get it in for our second day). We had a superior... More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Hotel. We always take a special pride in guests returning to us and enjoying their subsequent stay as much as their first visit! I'm glad you found time to explore the area a wee bit too. I always find a bit of retail therapy in Thornhill with perhaps... More
