We had the joy of spending the night with Stewart and Rosie in the summer, enroute to Orkney. We stayed with Stewart and Rosie for 2 nights whilst competing in the Buccleuch challenge. Originally the estate factor's house the building is listed and they have renovated it beautifully. We had an excellent three-day break at Holmhill and were made most welcome. The bedroom and bathroom were superbly appointed and the bed was very comfortable - a real home from home. This is a lovely house set in beautiful grounds just outside the little village of Thornhill. The room we stayed in was first rate as was the magnificent bathroom. The dining room and sitting rooms were equally welcoming and it was great to be able to sit in front of a real log fire after a busy day of sight... More

I stayed at Holmhill for 3 nights and can't recommend it highly enough. It is a beautiful house with wonderful views of the hills. The room was lovely, bed and bathroom of the highest quality and the breakfast amazing. Rosie and Steve were really kind and helpful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. You must stay here. More
