My husband and I stayed here for one night as his work was holding there Christmas party here. OMG never again. The room we stayed absolutely stank of cigarettes. We don't smoke. The bed linen included. We slept with all the windows open lovely in December. The landlord said he couldn't smell the smoke as he was a smoker himself... More

I stayed at the Eliot Arms recently whilst in the area on business. The Hotel is in the Cotswold Waterpark, an outstandingly beautiful area, but still within easy reach of the motorway system. I found the venue on Laterooms.com, and was attracted by the very reasonable room prices in comparison to other places in the area. The Eliot was certainly... More

This is part of the Marstons chain of pubs and inns. The food was ok for the price When we tried to order a drink at the bar the landlord wouldn't even make eye contact with us and barked at us that "banks is off" with no suggestion of what else might be available or any type of conversation. His... More

I used to drink here, as did many other locals, until the new landlord was appointed. I'm not sure if he has noticed but his lack of warmth, customer service, and general unfriendliness has driven most customers to the pub across the road. I must add though that the other pub also came into new ownership shortly after the Eliot... More

Very welcoming staff, comfy quiet room(s) and excellent good value meals. Not for tall people as the rooms are authentic 16th century with very low ceilings but we loved it. We were upgraded to the family room as the regular rooms were taken at no extra charge. The restaurant specials change each night and the full cooked English breakfast is... More

Whilst staying in the area, we visited the Eliot Arms on 3 separate evenings. The pub is part of the Marston group and as such offers some very reasonable deals, such as a limited menu of 2 meals for £10, plus each weekday evening there was a special on for either grill night, pudding night, curry night etc etc. In... We stopped at this pub for lunch after we went to another pub in the town and found it closed for a private party. Turned out, this worked out really well (and the other pub looked alittle too modern inside). Anyway, it was a Saturday afternoon in September and there were a fair amount of people inside. We ordered our... More

We had booked a table the day before and turned up at 6pm, the time we had reserved it, having ordered our food it took over an hour for it to arrive. We had ordered scampi, it was overcooked, steak and ale pie, it was undercooked the pastry was still dough, the BBQ chicken melt was dried out along one... More

My wife and I stayed 2 nights recently whilst walking the Thames and found it hard to fault. Yes, it’s clearly part of a chain so you lose a little of the charm but replace that with friendly service, surprisingly good food at an excellent price and well kept beer. I paid a little extra and was happy to do... More
