Ok, to be brutally honest, I would need to have a good reason to visit Gainsborough again. But if I did, I would not hesitate going back to the Hickman Hill. Lovely personal touch. Food fresh local produce cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend this hotel and most definitely recommend the food - chef fantastic Maggie More

A very interesting place, full of contrasts. The decor could do with some updating! The bedroom certainly needed some help, especially the bathroom. Very disappointing. The lady owner was very pleasant and very courteous but this didn't make up for a below average and overpriced stay. The bed was very clean and comfortable which nearly compensated for the well below standard room decor and aged bathroom. Had a very comfortable stay in this hotel. I got a warm welcome and was well looked after. Also, the room was great- comfortable, quiet and attractive. In the morning I enjoyed a tasty breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. More

Had a super stay at the Hickman Hill Hotel while visiting Lincoln Christmas market. The charming hosts could not have been more helpful and the food was as excellent as the hospitality. Will definately stay there again if I'm in the area. Many thanks - Julia More

“Great staff and homecooked food”

7 of us stayed for work purposes for a number of days. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Michelle and Rob were excellent hosts and really looked after us. The food was excellent, all lovingly prepared and cooked by Rob. Would definitely stay again. More

“Delightful hotel with happy staff and excellent food”

You are sure to find a warm welcome from the charming owners of this hotel. It's so much nicer than the big chain hotels. The food in excellent - restaurant quality, so try it out even if you're not staying there. More
