Located on the hillside 8km west of Chiang Dao, this locally owned facility provides guests with a quiet, relaxing stay. A couple of hundred meters away is the entrance to a national park, providing walking and hiking opportunities, while another couple of hundred meters along the dead end road leads to Wat Tham Paplong Temple, where over 500 steps lead... We absolutely LOVED our stay at 'The Nest.' What value for money! The bungalows were immaculately presented with locally produced linens, bathrobes, white towels, and the bathroom was brand new with a crisp white linen shower curtain. Hand made soaps and kaffir-lime shampoo were a lovely touch. The beds were extremely comfortable (My Mum and I stayed in Nest 1,... More

Bungalows range from very basic to reasonably well kitted out. Basic has fan, no TV, no windows just netting. They are quite nice if your into the nature buzz or on a budget. A little too close to nature for me! About 680 baht. Superior has a couple of bed rooms flat screen tv, three air con units, lounge, superb... More

Actually, I want to say this is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. The hotel in on the mountain. The scenery around the hotel is really very very beautiful, all covered by green. I like the morning and night in the hotel, very quiet and cool, you can always hear birds' sing:) The room is clean, include... More

Nest 1 is a collection of rustic bungalows in a forest clearing with an open-air restaurant/lobby common building. The accommodations are very basic, and this seems to be promoted as a selling point – a sort of “return-to-nature” eco-theme. However, we have been in a number of eco-lodges around the world and Nest doesn’t compare favorably except in two respects:... More

I think our fourth trip there and always great. Wicha has added AC two bedroom bungalows at Nest II and they are very nice, Brand new, and the AC was very welcome to escape the heat. We were travelling the north and decided to escape all the smoke and head into the Nest for a day, ended up staying 5... More

Positives - clean bungalows with comfortable beds. Even in March, we didn't need air-con, fan was ok. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Gardens are beautiful with loads of space for our son to run around. The food we had was good, but not 100% sure that some dishes are real value for money. It is good to have... More

My wife and I stayed here for Christmas and had a wonderful stay. The huts are comfortable with bush views and the staff are genuinely friendly, attentive and always helpful. We used the bikes and explored the area, walked up to the temple (the steps a challenge but worth it), did a tour of the caves, cooked in the hot... More

We were disappointed at first that Nest 1 was full, but soon settled into Nest 2 and loved it. The traditional Northern Thai food is well worth the visit, we only had lunch at Nest 1, but that was also delicious. The bungalows are clean and well maintained. The cool temperature for sleeping was a welcome change and the absolute silence... More

This was my fourth visit to Chiang Dao Nest, the first was to Nest 1 and the last three have been to Nest 2 (800 metres away). Both places are great - accommodation is in simple, but confortable huts of traditional materials and design. Nest 1 has a small pool, which can be used by Nest 2 guests I prefer... More
