My wife and family went there as wedding guests, as we didn't stay I can't comment on the rooms. However the service and catering are another matter, we were served tepid bland soup followed by a main course of warm beef served on cold plates with roasted potatoes that had been warmed for so long they had become armour plated.... more

Couldnt fault the whole day..... it was lovely. The staff were very smart, clean and polite. The food was good and the service was efficient. Stayed Friday night to Monday morning.The Castle is in a brilliant position for visiting all the local attractions.Staff were nice,mainly young.There is a carbuncle of an extension which contains the rooms where most of the guests were roomed.Corridors smelled musty and while the room (at the very top,furthest away,reached by a lift) was adequate it was certainly not good enough... more
