We changed the hotel after 2 hours after arrival. The hotel has his best time behind and is: very central, in the middle of the town, not far from the airport very friendly staff at the reception, no problem with checkout after 2 hours bad smell in the floor, a mix between old dust and cleaning supplies noisy from the... On the way from Danum Valley is was necessary to stay for one night in Lahad Datu. The Executive Hotel is a hotel evidently for sales people. The room had an unpleasant smell of strong smoking. It was small and simple, no charme. Over every lamp shade there was an inscription: do not put anything on the lamp. Obviously this... More

After many years of travelling around Asia this has got to be the worst town i have ever come across! Lonely planet state this is the best hotel in the town!!! I would not like to see the worst! There is nothing at all to do here, it is a one night layover if you are staying at Danum Valley... More

Stayed one night en route to Danum Valley. Clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. Evening meal was fine. Breakfast not so good - toast ok. Live entertainment at night was just that - entertainment! Overall it was fine for one night or so.

The hotel room was ok with me. Nice and simple and clean. Good for a day or 2 days stay. Basically no bad review on this hotel. In addition, got free breakfast in the morning.

The staffs are friendly and always made me feel at home. They remember me by name and always spends time for a chit-chat. The room rate is fairly reasonable, RM100 nett (for Single Room) inclusive of breakfast. The hotel condition is a little old but properly maintained with everything still running in good order. Located in the middle of Lahad Datu... More

I stayed there just for one night before heading out to Danum Valley. I had a room without a window but that´s ok because what I heard from a couple from Denmark who had the wedding suite, the view was really bad. My room was kind of shabby but clean, the price was resonable, for one night it was OK... More

The front office staff were very helpful. And the breakfast buffet was good. But the room we had was dated and needed a good spring clean. In addition, there were notices all over the room asking guests not to do various things - not exactly welcoming!

We stayed in Lahad Datu for 1 night, it was just a stop over so we could catch our tour the next day. Lahad Datu itself isnt overly impressive, it has some street markets which are good to wander around, but we didnt think it was that great. We stayed at the Executive Hotel, from research I carried out it... More
